INDIAN INDUSTRY IS STRONGLY COMMITTED TO CLIMATE CHANGE.
- Dr Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India mentioned the efforts of Union Government to protect and safeguard the environment. India is mindful of its requirement to develop and provide a good quality of life to its citizens.
Indian Industry has always been playing a constructive role in the process by balancing the growth agenda of economy with the objectives of sustainable development. Government of India acknowledges this constructive role played by Indian Industry.
- Hon’ble minister quoted the example of Polio eradication project of Government of India and the persistent efforts made by Indian Industry to support the programe. Vision of New India by 2022 as outlined by Mr Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, provides an opportunity to all stakeholders to work closely and Industry can play an important role to achieve the vision. Hon’ble Minister thanked CII and appreciate its efforts to organize this session on Day-1 at India Pavilion during CoP-23. This demonstrates the commitment of Indian Industry to the cause of climate change.
